Day 26 Bangkok
Yes Bangkok again, but it is handy to use it as our base between going North and South! So we arrived at Bangkok bus station at 4.30 in the morning and hopped in a taxi to just off Koh San Road where we were staying. Well walking up Koh San Road at that time in the morning we did see some sight, amongst them passed out Westerners and the lady boys of the night parading up and down, not quite Koh San Road at its best! Amazingly our hotel allowed us to check in early thank goodness so we got a few hours sleep before arising for brunch.
We decided we should go and check out the Grand Palace even though it was 350 baht for the entrance fee (ok so its not that much but u start to get used to Thai money after a while and its a fair bit in baht!) anyway glad we went to see it, really amazing architecture and detail and of course the local monks hanging out there!
After battling with the humidity again we went back to the hotel and lay in the pool and did nothing which was fantastic!
Day 27
Bargain day today! Chakatak (wrong spelling) market was our stop today. Armed with my bartering skills acquired in Morroccco and Svens ahem charm, we went shopping and bought some nice Thai things. what a huge market, apparantly one of the worlds largest and so easy to get lost!! Had to refuel on pad thai afterwards and another amazing watermelon shake yum! In the evening we hopped on our bus (12 hour journey) down to Phuket and onto the part we have both been waiting for the Thai Islands and beaches!!
