Day 23
After all our cooking yesterday we were feeling pretty lazy so we decided to hop onto a tuk tuk then a taxi (songtheaw) and went to visit a famous temple in Chiang Mai situated high above the city calpled Wat Pra That Doi Suthep. After climbing 350 steps we reached the top and it was worth the trek. Beautiful architecture adorned in gold and other blingy stuff it really was beautiful.
After checking that out we spent the rest of the afternoon swimming at our hotels pool and then buying one or two more things at the night market on our last night in Chiang Mai.
Day 24
This we got a local bus to Sukhothai about 5 hours south of Chiang Mai and checked into a cute little guest house. By the time we got there it was already evening so we ate some good thai home cooking on the verandah of the guest house and drank amazing watermelon shakes (am seriously addicted to the fresh fruit shakes in Thailand!)
Day 25
Hired a couple of bicycles this morning and set out to explore the ancient ruins of Sukhothai tomb raider style! Amazing architecture which has survived hundreds of years and has all different temples scattered around Sukhothai. Was great to cycle amongst the old ruins and check out the massive buddha statues! That evening we got a lift on some really odd contraption which would be banned straight away on western roads! it was a motorbike with a carriage attached to the front! Our driver called Dodo and his small son steered us to the bus station where we got on the overnight bus back to Bangkok.

Lyndsay Hope you took a photo of the motorbike with the carriage at the front. Can just imagine your face when you were being driven along by Dodo! Have fun!
