The flight departed on time and we had a great crew who looked after us very well. I had forgotten what it is like trying to fill in the 11 hours. Especially when you are not feeling 100% and you don't want to watch TV or read.- sleep ?
We were served breakfast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, and cereal, with hot choices to follow. The omelette choice ran out so neither Cecille nor I had anything hot. Mid flight they served sandwiches and a fancy cake and three hours to the end it was time for lunch/early dinner. A cold entree of coleslaw and smoked salmon, fresh bread from the bakery, and a choice of lamb shank, salmon or fish. The dessert was a slice of cake,. So much food I couldn't eat it all. It was simple getting through customs and immigration once you arrived at that area. Walked for miles on moving footpaths to find our luggage . Our transport was waiting and he had three drop offs with us being the last, the traffic when we got to this area was stopped and people just wander out on to the roads and the traffic wait.
We landed at five and were finally settled in to the hotel at 8 so it was time for a wander and to see how far to walk to the hotel this morning where we are meeting the coach for our city tour.
John decided he wanted something to eat so we went up to the 6th floor to a bar/ eating place and what a performance to order something light. It seemed that for a set amount it is all you can eat and drink for 2hours. We were being served by a lovely guy from Bangladesh, could speak three languages he said, but had much difficulty placing our order of 3 drinks and a pizza. Then Karaoke started up and every one was yelling across the room to each other, the tables were all set in small areas, never less we enjoyed their friendliness and the lollipop offered at the lift door with lots of smiles and shouting goodbyes.
The young women here are immaculately dressed and wearing lots of long frocks. In the area yes, there are people sleeping on the streets and rubbish everywhere it will be interesting to see if it is cleaned up over the night. At 5.00am it was broad day light - I'm not sure if I have a voice back yet, we will see.
At home I spent time getting the correct adaptors and for this hotel I have not got the correct one. I will charge the iPad with the power bank and that should last me until I get on to the ship tomorrow.
