Day One
I left Wellington on a wet and cold morning, the temperature was 6 degrees. .
The shuttle got me to the airport at 12.15 for my 2.45pm flight. It was interesting wandering the terminal to see all the new changes. A lot of new eating places and a new system of putting your suitcase on to a conveyor belt and scanning the tag yourself. Of course as soon as I got started the belt stopped and there was a 15 minute wait before the staff got it up and running again., meanwhile the queue waiting was getting rather long. The flight was on time and after getting my luggage I went outside to meet Cecille and John. They brought me back to the Jet Park Hotel and I booked in.
It had been arranged to go to Oliver and Maria's swimming lessons in Epsom and it was fabulous to see their improvement and it was great to catch up with David as I hadn't seen any of them since Easter. Emma didn't come to swimming and sent her apologies as she needed to have their meal ready when they would arrive home about 6.30pm.
When we left them the three of us went to a Chinese restaurant for a meal and now it is an early night for a 5.30am wake up call to go to the International terminal at 6.30am to get our aircraft - it is scheduled to depart on a direct flight at 8.50am, land in Tokyo at 5.00pm their time which will be 8.00pm in NZ .
