After a whirlwind past few weeks and an amazing wedding day- here we are! Can't believe we actually got the house packed up and work finished amongst getting married- we really should have left more time!
We were exhausted but excited as we set off, unlike our last big adventure our plane actually left when it was supposed to this time! We both managed to sleep on the plane and at the airport in Singapore, we were lucky enough to find a relaxing retreat area at the airport with reclined chairs so we had a couple hours sleep there too! We arrived a few hours later in Ha Noi, after a lengthy visa process we had a 45 min cab rife to our hotel. The room is nice- with two queen sized beds! Haha. We went for a wander through the old town, saw the cathedral, hoan kiem lake, ngoc son temple, Silk Road and the craziness of the streets in the old town! The streets are full of scooters and its crazy trying to cross the road when no one uses the traffic lights! We had a massage and tried the local cuisine, chris got to make his own spring rolls with local pancake cuisine, the lady in the restaurant had to show us what to do! Sampled the local beer, also good! Had a fairly early night, both exhausted. Going to book a halong bay boat tour tomorrow and a trip to sa pa, but tour prices range from $50 to $270 so tricky to decide on who to go with!!!
