We got the next bus to Airlie Beach where we spent a few days including Brads birthday. On the Friday evening there was a huge firework display for the beginning of the Reef Festival which we watched from the small beach. Early start this morning to catch our first of many OZ Experience buses down to Townsville and Magnetic Island. We stopped at Johnston river Crocodile Farm along the way to check out the 2000 crocodiles including a giant captured saltie which was over 18ft! Arrived in cairns in the evening and checked into Esplanade backpackers. The hostel has a great location, right next to the lagoon which is huge! We spent most of our time at this lagoon including our evenings having bbqs and watching the world go by.We spent a day out on the Barrier reef with passions catamaran (I was sick within 30mins of hitting some waves!)
