We started our cloud9 Darwin to Alice Springs adventure tour today. We got picked up at 6am by our guide bevan and were soon on our way to nearby Litchfield National Park. First looked at 2 different types of termite mounds (more interesting than it sounds!) The next stop was the stunning Florence Falls where we had our first swim of the day. The water was really cool and so refreshing! After an hour or so we went to Buley Rock Hole, a series of small pools connected by little water falls. Next was a quick lunch stop then we made our way to Mary River Wetlands for a cruise. It was a small shaded boat and the tour last for around 2 hours. We saw so many crocs, both freshwater and salties. We were lucky to get so close and our guide told us some interesting stories along the way. Our last stop was Point Stuart Wilderness Resort, where we made camp and went swimming in their pool. The site was full of wallabies and toads!

Our 2nd day we were up at 5am to head to Kakadu National Park. We went to some nearby wetlands with a bird lookout along the way. In Kakadu we stopped at Ubirr, a circular track with some fascinating Aboriginal rock art. We also walked to the top of a rocky lookout with views over the Nardab floodplain. Next we went to Kakadu lodge for lunch then began our drive to Barramundi Gorge plunge pool. It was a 2km walk through sand and forest and over rocks to the clear water and waterfall. There was a small chance of salties (the crocs that attack!) so I stayed by the edge! We stayed the night at Kakadu Lodge and went swimming in there huge pool.

Another 5am get up for the long drive to Jim Jim falls and it was so bumpy we couldn't sleep! We had to walk 900m but it was over rocks and boulders so took about an hour. The fall doesnt actually flow during the dry season but it was still spectacular. We went swimming in the pool with some big fish and some freshwater crocs, dont worry they stay well away from people! We stopped at an Aboriginal Cultural Centre on the way back to darwin. Quick shower and then we went out for dinner with the group and played some interesting games in the bar. I rode around on a scooter wearing boxing gloves and Brad ended up half naked with Kasias bra on his head!
