My Family Travels
One of my good friends was getting married in Colorado, so a few of us decided to do some touristy things before we headed over for the weddingy things!
Molly Brown house - This is the house of the famous Molly Brown from the Titanic. Actually her real name was Margaret Brown. That was one thing I learned from this stop. Now I have been to several touristy things here in Denver, but I have not done this one. It was pretty fun going through the house. I just wish that our guide would have been a little bit more interested in giving the tour. There was actually a part where my friend (who had been on the tour earlier) taught the guide something about the house. Thankfully they had the interactive back room where 3 teachers can have a lot of fun!
We walked to the capitol just to take pictures on the step that is 1 mile above sea level. Nothing exciting happened here other than it being really hot!
Red Rocks Amphitheater - We took Erin here. Both Rachel and I have been to the theater, but we knew that Erin would really enjoy it. It is such a beautiful place to have a concert. We were able to quick get in some pictures before we had to leave. A great thing about here is that it is so beautiful to wander around and it is free! Woot!
New Belgium Brewery - Actually we missed our tour time for this brewery. Time just slipped away during all of our touring. But that was ok with us. We were still able to try the beers. While we were there some classmates of ours walked through the door. The crazy thing about that is our college we all went to is in Minnesota! What crazy luck to see classmates a few states away. (and they weren't there for the wedding we were there for) Anyway, the beer was really good and we were able to write up some free postcards that felt like coasters.
Fort Collins - We spent the last 3 days of our trip in Fort Collins. We didn't do much touring around as we were busy doing wedding stuff. But I really enjoyed the town. I would love to spend some more time in this town. We did go to several bars and restaurants around town throughout the time we were there. A very cute college town!
