Hello there :)
Well, today has been a bit mad...I didn't get to sleep until 6am cos I was a bit jet lagged and the people in my dorm at the hostel were a little bit loud! But it was Friday night so they're forgiven. Then I overslept my checkout but the wonderful thing about Australians is that nothing is a big deal...they're so chilled.
I then went for a walk around the area on my own...I ended up by this massive bridge over the river. The view was pretty incredible - there were people clearing up from the floods everywhere. The mud that is all over the surrounding roads smells really bad and the river is still flowing heavily but the Australian attitude is so amazing. They just get on with it and everyone is helping each other.
When I was sitting on this wall by the bridge this guy came and sat down and we started chatting and it turned out he was staying at the same hostel and lived in Belfast. So we went for a wander and chatted about stuff and then went back to the hostel for a game of pool before I got the shuttle into town to catch a bus up to Hervey Bay. I slept for most of the 5 hour journey but managed to book a hostel for tonight with a free shuttle pick up. And basically met some really cool people on the shuttle to the hostel who I've just been out for a drink with and who've decided that we're all going for a run and swim at 6.30 in the morning. HA.
One thing I've decided about this trip is that sleep is going to become a little bit irrelevant and another is that water is a godsend...it's very hot and sunny - 30 degrees today...perfect temperature.
So, basically, I'm having an amazing time. Thinking about you all in the beautiful Cornish weather ;) Oh, and the girls I met tonight come every year for a holiday in Padstow...SMALL WORLD.
Right I'm gonna head for a shower and bed if I have any hope of getting up in the morning. Lots of love, Chloe :)

Karen Hi Chloe, glad you've had such a good start to your holiday. Very jealous of the sunshine, it's grey and gales here. Give Marie a hug from me when you see her tomorrow, love you lots, Mum xxxx
