VEGAS BABY! Our 6am start was not pleasant but needed to be done as we had to travel a long way!! Today I was up the front of the van so had the job of being DJ! I went for old school American rock, we all had a blast!
To get to Vegas we had to travel through Death Valley, the hottest place on Earth! Getting out to see some sand dunes was just painful! The heat was ridiculous, and it was only 10 in the morning. As we continued to different view points and tourist attractions the group photos kept coming! We even decided to attempt to copy the U2 album cover for Joshua Tree because we were in the exact location it was shot. You can be the judge of how accurate it is!
After more views of the national park we went deep into Death Valley to visit the basin, where there is a salt flat 56m below sea level! We then moved on to a visitor centre where the temperature reading was 38 degrees! Which is cold for where we were as its highest ever was in the 50s! No surprise we decided to eat in the van rather than out in the sun!
Once food was out of the way we were on our way to Vegas and rolled in with the tunes blasting! We spent our time in Vegas in the Stratosphere hotel, which is the sky tower here so we had amazing views of the strip!
We showered and ate in the hotel before having a game of poker with a beer - starting to see a worrying trend here!
We got picked up at 9 by a massive pink limousine which took us on a two hour tour of Vegas! It was perfect because we took our own drinks so I didn't need to worry about being under age! The limo first took us to the Las Vegas sign before taking us to the old school downtown and then to the world famous Bellagio fountains! It was such a blast! I felt like I was in a movie, such a serial experience!
We watched the fountain display before going to a bar which let us all in! We all drank some more and danced a lot! After a while a few of the guys wanted to move on to another club so us under 21s decided to call it a night and walk back along the strip to our hotel! Got in at 3! Slept like a log!
