Today was an adventure within an adventure! I started late in the morning because I didn't sleep particularly well to start and was catching up with jet lag! This meant I annoyingly missed my free breakfast, so I had a cereal bar Instead to get me through the morning!
I decided to get stuck in to Kathmandu so went to 'The Monkey Temple' by foot first. It was about a half hour walk through an almost third world destination and walking up hundreds of steps in the mid-day heat to finish was good training for the weeks to follow!
It was nice to say I've been and got some great pics but only stayed for an hour max as it was hot and I had more to do in the day!
I then walked down the stairs and made my way to 'Durbar Square'. Navigation wasn't too challenging but Dad's compass definitely helped!! I had a look around, took many more pictures and was politely persuaded -oh and just had one of many power cuts so am typing I'm the dark on my iPad!- me to have a bit of a guided tour! I was only really looking for somewhere to eat but he took me to a terrace restaurant overlooking the square and in all honestly was a nice guy!
Once I finished my food I asked the man if he would show me around as planned! So he showed me the sights (just a variation of different religious temples) and showed me where the 'living goddess' lives... All very interesting! I took more photos and wandered back to the hotel after paying the man rather too much for my liking, but because of the difficult conversion rates I only realised half way back!!
Tried to work my radio ready for the match tonight but annoying had no luck :( it starts at 11pm for me so I think ill sleep and try and watch it when I have good WiFi, although that might be a long wait!!
