Week 7- Thailand (Koh Phangan) Day 3
So at 5.30am I woke up and was probably the hottest I have ever felt, we were in a fan only room and the fan was pathetic! Obviously being the good girlfriend I am I woke Brad up so he could also suffer. I had a bit of a tantrum while getting in and out of the shower in the hope of cooling down, however, nothing was helping! Brad even threw an ice cold bottle of water over me. I was not happy in the slightest, after about half an hour of me huffing and puffing Brad suggested we went down to the pool. Although I'm sure he found it very entertaining me stomping around the room. When we got down to the pool it was closed so we went down to the sea. Finally I started to cool down once I had a swim the in the sea, and I stopped having a strop. It was beautiful on the beach at such an early hour. We were the only ones down there and it was so peaceful. We walked along the beach and attempted to scramble over the rocks but that was a bit of a fail as they were too high. So we sat on the wall watching all the crabs run about instead. There were loads of them in all different sizes, we were hoping for a crab fight but they were all being too friendly!
We walked up to the pool and had a fruit juice while overlooking the beach. We then booked our cab to the pier for the boat, however, the cab was leaving earlier than we had hoped so we didn't have much time left. We went up to the rooms and I woke up Gemma. She found it hilarious as soon as she opened the door as she could clearly see I had been having a bad morning haha. She was pretty much welcomed with a 'Im so hot and we only have an hour until we are leaving, get packing'. Brad was doing what he does best and was faffing about, certainly not packing!! So it turned into a bit of a rush but we managed to check out and get into the cab on time. As always the truck ride was fun and games! Once at the pier we managed to grab some breakfast, both myself and Brad felt a bit fragile from the cocktails the night before. We met up with Maffo and boarded to boat to Koh Phangan.
We paid an extra 20baht to sit in 'VIP'... this consisted of crap aircon in a tiny room with seats and an awful film. The boys watched the film while me and Gem had a sleep, rudely woken up by them taking photos of us. This boat was slower and the one the other day taking us about an hour and a half to get there. Once we arrived in Koh Phangan we were shipped off into different trucks depending on the area we were staying. Although our truck driver managed to give us a tour of the island because he took us to 'Bayshore' instead of 'DewShore'.
The hotel was lovely and yet again had a swimming pool overlooking the beach (Brad did good). We literally felt like we had landed in paradise. Once we had checked in we headed straight to the pool, it even had a seating area with a jacuzzi! The sea by the resort wasn't very nice but the beach had hammocks (which Gemma LOVED) and also a little beach bar that served cocktails in the evening. So after a relaxed afternoon involving Gemma and Brad falling asleep on me for a good hour we headed to our bungalow to freshen up before dinner. We had a BBQ at the resort for dinner, although, we were all slightly disappointed as it didn't taste too fresh! It was then another early night for us party animals!
