Week 22- Australia (Whitsundays) Day 1
Today we got woken up nice and early to have breakfast then we got taken over to Whitsundays National Park and Whitehaven beach. We walked up to the lookout and saw breath taking views over Whitehaven beach. The sand pattern changes there everyday so the one that we saw as unique to us. After that we walked down to the beach and chilled there for a couple of hours. We had a photoshoot with Olly using a Vegemite jar, he can make it look like we are jumping out of it, sitting on top of it, climbing out of it and other cool things. We also had a superman picture and one of us all jumping was so much fun. Me and mum also did a bit of shell picking.
After that we got back on the boat and sailed to our next destination Blue Pearl Bay. I jumped in for a scuba dive with Kate. It was incredible, saw loads of cool fish, we found nemo! Saw Spanish dancers who I had a little dance with underwater, saw really cool leopard looking fish and loads of cool coral and sea worm things. But the best thing we saw and the only thing I was desperate to see....we found a shark! It was about 2 metres long and he was quite scared of us so he tried to swim away as fast as he could but we kept up with him and Kate got some really cool photos! Coolest dive ever.
Back on the boat it was lunch time and a chance for people to go snorkelling, and to chill and sunbath for the afternoon. After snacks were served and the sun had set it was time for me and Kate to jump into the sea again for our night dive! Literally couldn't see anything other than what our torches were pointing at! Was a little scary but so much fun. We had a cod following us the whole time as little fish were attracted to the light which made his hunting a little easier! We went to see if a turtle was home but unfortunately he wasn't. Swam around and saw some other cool fish and coral, took a few pictures. Its amazing how things look completely different in the dark! The night dives only last 30 mins as it gets very cold down there. Once we came back up and was waiting for our ride back to the boat I got to check out the stars. There were loads up there, but they weren't as good as Fraser Island still beautiful though. Jumped straight into a hot shower when I got back to thaw out. Dinner was nearly ready too :) diving makes you hungry and Olly had cooked yet another feast. We had dinner then watched our photos and videos from the day which was funny, the Vegemite pictures look cool. Had Kate's rocky road in the meantime, yummy! Chilled as a group for our last night on the boat.
