Week 22- Australia (Cape Tribulation) Day 5

Today was the start of our road trip up to Cape Trib :) our first stop was Hartleys Crocodile Farm. We saw a crocodile feeding show which was quite cool. They were salt water crocodiles and the boys were huge!! They weighed about 350kgs! We then went to watch them feed the smaller fresh water crocodiles and the keeper actually got into the water with the crocodiles to feed them! They are mental. The crocodiles all knew it was time for food as they call started surround in him. We had a walk around the park and saw other animals. We and lunch and then went on a boat ride around the river. The captain was quite funny and entertained us the whole time. He also fed some if the crocodiles off of the side of the boat. Was pretty cool. After that we hit the road and headed towards port Douglas. Once we arrived to the hostel we realised that we were booked in for tomorrow night instead of tonight and they had no availability for tonight! But the lady at Dougies gave us loads of So we hit the road again and headed to Cape Tribulation where we were booked into for the night. Had to get a ferry across the river to Cape tribulation which took about 3 minutes was quite entertaining. We drove up to Ferntree where we were staying tonight, we checked in then headed out to .... look out point to see the sunset behind the mountain. The views from the lookout were pretty, had the mountain and the sea. We then went to do some waking around..... Broad walk. Read signs about some of the different trees and bushes. By this time we had worked up an appetite for dinner. There was a restaurant next to the hostel called 'Whet' so we went there for dinner. We had been told that they had the best steaks and burgers! We shared a starter platter of bread and dips. Then I had the whet burger, mum had kangaroo which she really enjoyed, brad had the steak and char had barramundi fish with korma crust and coconut rice which she was super excited about. Brad and char also had a chocolate dessert. The good was super yummy! We headed back had a cuppa then got a early night ready for our jam packed day tomorrow!
