Week 20- Australia (Noosa) Day 7
I felt like an overexcited child this morning waking up for the zoo. We were up at about 6 and had to check out before heading for the greyhound. The bus took about 2 hours then we had a full day at the zoo. Australia zoo is awesome and really interactive, there were lots of workers dotted around holding different animals which you could touch and have photos with. We touched a baby crocodile and stroked a koala :-) We also listened to a talk about the huge tortoises which was cool.
It was raining today but it seemed like every time we went outside it stopped so we were really lucky! We saw lots of crocodiles, half of them didn't look real until they suddenly opened their mouth! We all had a photo cuddling a koala which was really cute, I loved holding him! We went around 'Africa' with the giraffes and lions, they were all very beautiful. We had our lunch over looking the crocodile show and then went on a little train around the zoo (mum would have loved it!!). It was then time to get the bus onto Noosa :-( although we definitely made the most out of our day.
The bus to Noosa took about an hour and a half and when we arrived Flashpackers were waiting to pick us up which was a touch! We were all exhausted by the this point. Once we checked in we got the free shuttle back into town to go and get some dinner from Coles, we planned to walk back and cook. When we got off the shuttle we could smell an amazing curry. We ended up following our noses until we found where it was coming from (this was very entertaining for people walking past). When we went into the restaurant it was empty apart from one couple yet when we asked for a table they said they didn't have an available inside and we could only sit outside. Obviously we found this very funny but apparently they had bookings. So we ended up sitting outside (to be fair it wasn't that cold). Afterwards we went to Coles to get a few treats for Fraser Island and then to the bottle shop to get some goon! We walked back to the hostel and then it was straight to bed for us all. Another early morning was ahead of us.
