Week 20- Australia (Harvey Bay) Day 4
Wow a super early start this morning, all if us were up at 3:45 ready to leave at 4:30am yo head up to Hervey Bay and to stop off at Tin Can Bay on the way to feed the dolphins. After lots of driving and mind numbing roads we arrived at Tin can bay around half 7. A couple of dolphins (the regulars) were already at the bay waiting for breakfast. Mystique and his favourite girl patch were beautiful dolphins that come into the bay everyday for feeding. Mystique was quite the show off and did love having his photo taken. Luckily there wasn't many people there which meant we could get up close and personal with the dolphins. Every person who wanted to feed the fish got given a fish each. Me char and brad went down as a three and we all gave mystique his breakfast. It was a pretty cool experience. After that we warmed up in the cafe with cuppa before hitting the road again. Once we arrived in Hervey Bay we stopped at the harbour to have a quick look around for prices of whale watching boat trips. I made friends with a lady at one company who said she would give us student discount too. Happy days. We then headed to Faye and Will's house. Once we arrived we all sat done and had a cuppa and a catch up then we headed back down to the harbour to book the trip for tomorrow. Faye came with us to try and get a discount for us. We had no luck there but my friend pulled through from earlier so we managed to get a sweet deal.
We then Had a drive around Hervey Bay along the esplanade and through town looking at some of the beautiful houses there with amazing views of the sea. We stopped off to have a drink at a bar (Enzos) which was on the beach. We sat and had a drink then went and sat on the bean bags on the beach to catch some rays. All 3 of us fell asleep.....not surprising after getting up in the middle of the night.
When we woke up it was time to head back. Faye was already cooking us dinner. We then cracked open the wine and beers and chatted whilst dinner was cooking. We managed to get through 3 bottles of wine between us girls before we had even had dinner. Great start to the evening. The meal was delicious, pudding was yummy too. We had a few more drinks before hitting the sack.
