Week 17- Australia (Sydney) Day 6
We had a lay in today, went down and had breakfast in the manic and boiling hot kitchen. We then got ready and chatted to the lady on reception about the blue mountains as she used to be a tour guide and she knows her stuff! We then went to get a few quotes to hire a car for the day. But it worked out just as expensive as a tour! Whilst we were looking around we got a quote from a bonkers man for our camper for New Zealand.
We then headed back and had lunch before our free Sydney city tour this afternoon. We asked to the town hall which is where we met our guide and group. As there was so many of us a extra guide had to be called. We then started our tour, we walked to most of the main touristy sites in Sydney and our tour guide Justine gave us loads of information about the history of Sydney. We didn't realise that the UK had such a big part in Sydney's history. The tour was about 2.5 hours long and have us more of a insight into Sydney and we got our bearings abit. Sydney is warmer than Melbourne too so it wasn't as cold! We got the bus back to the hostel as we had done enough walking for the day. We got back just in time for the start of the free BBQ on the rooftop at the hostel! Dream! The views dorm the rooftop were cool! The BBQ was really nice, we had burgers sausages pasta salad, salad and drinks. Can't beat a bit of free food. We got chatting to an Irish guy who we both struggled to understand! And we got chatting to a couple from Sweden that had done some travelling in Australia and were now Woking in Sydney. After the BBQ we ahead do downstairs and started on the goon for a bit before we hit the sacks! Overall a good day in Sydney :).
