Koh Samui was gorgeous, our favourite place to date. Spent most of our days on Chaweng Beach, minus Vicky who we diagnosed with dengue fever. Nights were spent on Chaweng strip and enjoying cocktails on the beach, chilling with other travellers (one in particular we are still trying to shake off). One night, for a bit of variety, we went to a lady-boy cabaret show and cursed them all for having such beautiful figures.
We managed to drag ourselves away from the beach one day to indulge in a "highly spiritual" tour of the island, which mainly involved taking pictures of naughtily shaped rocks...We have also all converted to Buddhism after bein blessed by a monk at the temple of the Mummified monk. We also saw some beautiful scenery along the way, including a tropical waterfall. Clare and Charlene made the perilous 20 yard trek across the razor sharp rocks to the other side, which resulted in Clare breaking her ass bone and insisting on setting up home at the waterfall, after a confrontation with a giant butterfly and fear of the return journey.
After 5 days of sun, sea and sangsom we regretfully departed Koh Samui, our eyes firmly set on the horizon, in search of our next adventure....
(On a graver note, Victoria, Clare and Charlene would like to formally apologise to the monkeys of the world for their explicit and graphic exploitation of their ancestoral friends. After learning of the conditions and lifestyles of these particular creatures, they are filled with deep shame at ever having partaken in the photography of these furry friends, and will henceforth actively protest against and condemn this practice.)
