This day was a good day.We had morning worship and then our Bible study was about the power in The Blood of Jesus. All of the sacrifices in the Old Testament were just charges to the credit account of Jesus. After Christ died on the Cross all debts both past, present and future were paid. After our lesson we had our morning prayer time that lasted just around an hour.
We had a short meeting when lunch was over to discuss the logistics for this evening. We talked about Wed night at the mission and we learned that one team member had help pray for a gentleman to be delivered from a spirit of witchcraft. There was another woman who had been to the doctor for 3 consecutive days and after she was prayed for last night she was healed. There was another mother who we prayed for because her baby had not slept for 4 night's and after wed night's service the baby slept peacefully all night. One woman asked Claudio's wife for some money to help her buy milk for her baby because she could not afford to and Claudio gave her some money. When another team member saw this they had Claudio give the mother some more money so that maybe she could buy a few days worth of milk for her baby. In Brazil there is no welfare - if you don't have money to feed your children then your children just go hungry. This is why the mission is so important in this neighborhood. On some days the Missions' feeding program is the only meal that some families will get. We took up an offering the other day and we helped to buy some meat for the feeding program and some flour for the mission's bakery. The Grays Chapel crew donated most of the money the church had raised for us to help with this purchase of food for the mission. You can tell the young children that helped with the walkathon that they helped to feed hungry children in Brazil. After our meeting we all went to relax for a while.I actually took a nap for longer than two hours. We knew it would be late when we returned to the mission tonight (It was 11:30 when we did return).
We had supper at 5:00 - Claudio grilled us some tender chicken breasts - and then left for Rio Bonito as soon as we were finished. We arrived at the church early so we went to the local bakery to sample cookies. We then went to the church and the building they were in looked like an old car dealership building. It was nice inside - you should look at the picture of the altar on the blog. The children loved to dance and play in the church and everyone has a wonderful loving spirit about them. After Steve (who can now say he is an international minister) brought us a message on God's Love we had a normal Coca Cola altar call. There was a multitude of people who came forward to be prayed for. There were many who rested in the Spirit. The church was ready because when someone would rest in the spirit they had modesty blankets to cover them with. Modesty blankets are usually for the ladies with dresses and skirts but they used them on everyone.I prayed for three pregnant women and I could not but help to think of John the Baptist leaping in Elizabeth's womb when Mary came to see her.Elizabeth prayed for a pregnant woman and she said the baby was dancing in the mommy's tummy. I also prayed for several mothers with small children and many other people. We prayed for people for more than an hour and we probably could have kept going. But, it was time for us to have a snack "fit for children of the King" as the minister called it.We enjoyed our snack and Elizabeth and I tried a new fruit called a Pina.It was very good.Elizabeth named it God's Pudding because it was sweet and tasty.I taught Elizabeth how to play chew and show and we all had a good laugh. It was then time for the long trek back to the mission and we did arrive back at 11:30.If you notice any typing errors it is because it is 1:15 now and I am very tired.I will try to write tomorrow but for the next three days we will be at Pilares Methodist Church and we will have to leave at 7:30 in the morning and return at 11:00 at night so we will be very tired. It is so hard to sleep on the bus because the roads are so rough that when you get settled down in you seat then you get tossed in the air by a bump in the road.I love you all and hope you have a blessed day today. Thank you for your many prayers and gifts that you sent with us they are blessing many children in the Kingdom. In Christ's Abundant Love, Bobby.
