We arrived yesterday morning after about 29 hours of travelling door to door. We were knackered and couldn't get into our dorm room until the afternoon so we went for a walk into the city and then I tried to sleep in the TV room of the hostel, not nice. Day 97, the last day of our trip. We have been to China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai. We have covered thousands of miles since we left England on 14th Sep. We have done white water rafting, elephant riding, scuba diving, dune bashing, jungle trecking, sea fishing plus loads more activities while we have been away. We have really enjoyed the trip and are sad that its ending but happy to be coming home for Christmas. ...

It was our last full day yesterday and we walked for miles. We went over to the other side of the creek and went to Sheikh Sayeed Al Maktoums house, a heritage site showing how Dubai has grown from a desert town to a massive city. We went to the Bastique Quarter where there are loads of old houses with roofs that work like modern air-conditioning. Then we went to the museum which was pretty good. Yesterday was a really good but busy day, we went on an open tour bus round Dubai. First we went on a tour around a traditional souk (market), then we went to the Jumeirah Mosque which is the only Mosque in Dubai which allows non-Muslims to enter. The next stop was Jumeirah Beach where we got some good photos of the 7 star Burj Al Arab Hotel. We flew from Singapore via Sri Lanka last night and arrived in Dubai this morning feeling very tired. We have seen a few of the sights today though. We went to Gordan Ramseys restaurant (Verre) first and booked ourselves in for Thursday, our last day. Its expensive but not as expensive as the one in the UK. Then we went on a river cruise which helped us to get to know our way around a bit better. Everything is really spread out and the transport is very expensive...
