Yesterday was a really good but busy day, we went on an open tour bus round Dubai. First we went on a tour around a traditional souk (market), then we went to the Jumeirah Mosque which is the only Mosque in Dubai which allows non-Muslims to enter. The next stop was Jumeirah Beach where we got some good photos of the 7 star Burj Al Arab Hotel. We went on one of the palms which is being built over here, these are artificial islands in the shape of palm trees where each house on them has a seafront and its own beach. We could also see the offshore world islands being built from here. The islands can be bought for between $10m and $45m USD each and Beckham already has one.
Next we went to the shopping mall which has the indoor ski slope in it and Lou got her photo taken with Santa. The next mall was Mall Of The Emirates which is the size of 50 football pitches. It has a massive aquarium inside as well and an Olympic size ice rink, cinemas, catwalk, etc. This is where the worlds tallest building is currently being built. It is 705m tall and still growing, the final height has not been announced but is expected to be around 900m.
We missed the last bus back to where we are staying so we got a public bus back. Last night we went up to the Irish village where there were a few Irish pubs and a live band, it was nice to have a few drinks which we have not been able to do for a while. It is really cold here at night now so we had to sit under one of the heaters like we do at home.
