Febuary 17th
So after the excitement of last week life at Ohau has settled down once more. Today's plans, Timaru. Di and Charlie go into town for two days to get groceries because it's such a remote area trying to buy groceries in Twizel is a bit of a joke...and expensive. So we leave at about one today, stay the night at Di's friend Dina and have a big cook up and plan for the big shopping day. I'll finally get my hair cut for the first time in four months....about time, it's almost as long as it was my sophmore year. Then back home and to work the next day.
Last night the boys went on a shoot up. Rabbit and hare hunting. Now the thing about hare hunting in New Zealand is that it's a bit...well...interesting to put it nicely. I've heard stories from Di about her husband Tony just grabbing the shot-gun, throwing open a window. and getting them as they steal from the garden. Usually what the lodge boys do is jump in the car about dusk drive until they spot some and shoot right out the window...or run them over. Yeah sounds awful but the population is out of control. Last night the boys got five in total. Scotty three, Mirko two and Sam...had some tough shots (and then almost got shot in the head by Mirko).
College Update:
Interview with Brown went really well, the guy said I have a good chance of getting in.
Got an email from Conn Coll, they're deffering the decision until the end of March.
Yay more waiting and no planning.
