I have a job interview, at Prime Bistro restaurant and cafe. Thats about the extent of the exciting my life in New Zealand is taking shape news.
My favorite street is Lorne street, it goes directly to the library. It's a small narrow street filled with cafes, book shops, art galleries, chinese restaurants, and the Korean pancake stand where they make you pancakes filled with vegtables, meat, or fruit. In a way it reminds me of a smaller, more compact version of downtown grand haven with all of it's benches and the sitting park next to Jumpin Java. With the job placement people doing all of the real work it leaves me twiddling my thumbs, waiting to hear if anythings turned up. But whats nice about that is you get to spend a lot of time walking around the city. This morning I stumbled across a farmers market in one of the supermarket parking lots. And last night Alexandra found a free salsa/restaurant. Holly, Katherine, and I gladly joined her. For most of the night though I watched (these people are amazing dancers!) and thought about Peru, I hadn't realized just how much I missed hearing Spanish music and language. We left after meeting our first real Kiwi (everybody I've met is either traveling or coming here to work) Al a tall redhaird guy with an accent so thick we thought he was from a European country, and didn't speak English. Everybody here is really friendly, part of it being the traveling culture and another being that the people who live here love their country and happy to show it off to others.
