On Thursday we arrived into Wellington. Most of us had a reasonably early night then got up on Friday to explore the city. It's really windy due to the shape of the island at this point giving it the name 'Windy Wellington'. On Friday we all headed out into town for a bar crawl. There was a solid group of 20 of us and we surprisingly managed to stick together.. The night started with us dancing in the street to some crazy African music which was awesome.. We stayed out pretty late so Saturday was a pretty chilled day. On Saturday evening we had a curry night which me and Mia cooked! There was 14 of us an only 2 proper working hobs so it took a whilst but it was pretty good! We then got everyone into our dorm and turned out the lights and sang happy birthday to a surprised Angela and Josh! The cake was fresh off the counter.. Yum! Emily and I then did some face masks and put some coconut oil in our hair- we needed a bit of TLC. On Sunday we went to the Botanical gardens which we went up the cable car to. It was good to go but because it's not summer the flowers weren't really in bloom. From there we headed down to Te Papa- the museum of New Zealand. They have a giant squid preserved which is pretty cool.. The museum had tonnes of stuff in it.. We didn't spend too long there as we were all tired and were happy with what we'd seen. Our last evening in the capital was pretty chilled out- organising and packing to leave for the south in the morning.
