We met our group for our meeting at 4pm in our new hotel which was lovely and found we were a group of 9 of all different ages and nationalities with us being the only two brits which was quite a novelty. We also met our guide, Baru, who seemed to have a good sense of humour and a lot of knowledge to share with us. Our first evening we went to india gate which was lovely lit up in the evening light. Having got the metro back we all went for dinner to a fast food restaurant which served multiple types of indian foods. We all had thali which was a great way to try different dishes and we all had a sweet lime soda which is a popular drink here thats very refreshing and a bit like sprite but ten times better. The next morning we had a very early start as we had to get the 6 am train to jaipur. The train station was an experience in itself as we saw slleeper class where people hang off the doors of the trains as they leave just so they can get to where they want to go. Our car was air conditioned and we were served breakfast which was really nice and we arrived in jaipur at about half ten. We took auto rickshaws to the hotel and then visited the city palace which was really ornate and interesting. We had lunch at the city palace and then walked to the market where we managed to get all our souvenir shopping done and our haggling skills are improving!! That evening we went for dinner and then to bed for another early start. In the morning we left on auto rickshaws to amber fort where we got jeeps to take us to the top. We spent a couple of hours here with a guide who took us round and told us the history and some interesting facts about the palaces. We then got jeeps back down and auto rickshaws back to the hotel where we spent the afternoon resting. Some of us then met our guide who took us to see a bollywood film in an art deco cinema which was really good, very dramatic and the music was very catchy. We then went to get a lassi (yoghurt smoothie) in a earthernware pot which u drink out of then smash after using it so it can be recycled. We had banana and mango flavours and are now getting quite addicted to them! Having returned to the hotel we rested, ate and packed ready to catch our early morning train to Agra.
