I got the job!!! The one I wanted at the posh Italian down in Darling Harbour. I went for my trial on Friday, they told me then I got it and I worked Saturday night and Sunday lunchtime. Saturday was so busy, I forgot how tiring waitressing was!! But at least I have work now and money in my pocket in this very expensive city.
I went on my date Friday evening :) It was great, we drank champagne and watched the sunset by Sydney Harbour. The city, the bridge and the Opera house look so beautiful in the drank. Any of my friends know that I do not reveal the names of people I date unless it's serious, so from now on he will be referred to as The Lawyer. We had a really fun evening, we get on really well and he makes me laugh a lot. When I find out my work rota we will be planning a second date - don't worry I will not fall for the hot Aussie Lawyer and end up staying here (for one Mum would kill me), we both know i'm leaving in a few weeks so are just enjoying each others company.
Currently I'm back in a hostel in the city for a week this time so have got to know my international room mates, one American, two Germans, one Swede and two Danes. I'm getting a food shop in today and everything, this is proper hostel living. So far in Australia I have stayed in 6 different hostels, one house and one flat so have been packing up my stuff every morning and spending a night here and there but this week I am going to be a bit more settled. Rach and I have the possibility of short terming renting at flat from the weekend which will be great but we'll see how that goes.
I skyped Mum, Dad and Joe this morning (your evening) and my friend Chelsey who lives in Amsterdam and it was lovely to speak to everyone. Chats like that make me feel like I'm still connected to things back home.
Lots of love xxxx
