Okay, Time for an update. Work didn't work out, which made last week pretty difficult all round. But today Maggie (who i met in sydney and has also been attempting to find work in Melbourne's stagnant puddle of a job-market), and I, got a job Fruit picking, grapes to be precise. So we've quizzed the people about it, made sure with lots of checking that it's no where near any bushfires, and bought ourselves some tickets. Tomorrow we head to Mildura, which is quite near Adelaide but still in Victoria, it's a big grape area... so yeah, the accommodation there is really cheap, and being in the middle of nowhere pretty much guarentees a cheap existance for afew weeks - something we both need to help counter our bank balances! It seems that Melbourne really does have no jobs, and after 4 weeks of looking and not really getting any closer, we figure it's probably alot better to earn some money, and cut our expenditure on accommodation.
You might wonder why i choose that particular photo.. well i think that was one of the last times i had beer, and it was a nice sunny day, unlike the cloudy rainy drizzley stuff at the moment. And tonight i bought two stubbies for myself to make things seem abit rosey, does anyone know where i can purchase some rose-tinted specs? So the current plan is to while away my remaining work-time with fruit picking, working very hard, to ensure i can at least see some of australia! So this is my forewarning that i wont have internet, and probably not amazing phone reception, if any. But we have checked alot of sources and asked alot of people to ensure that we have picked the place in Victoria which is as far as possible from bushfires. I expect i wont be alot of fun, im not taking my camera but Maggie promises to get afew snaps to document the 'experience' which i can dutifully steal from facebook.
Wish us luck in the big wide world of grapes...
