Hi guys, I dont have much time here as i have to pay for the net. No where near enough to upload any of the amazing pictures of lion cubs etc... but i shall do this as soon as i get the chance, hopefully within a week once i get to thailand. Welllllll where to start! the flight was delayed to jo'burg by 14hours so instead of leaving UK on sunday i left at 8am Monday morning and Jodie and I were put up scot free in a hotel near Heathrow. I wasn't actually that fussed, tho it did mean we got to SA abit later. After a week of sitting on the gates taking tickets and selling giraffee food to tourists we got into the Nursery with the baby cubs and some had only just been innoculated so we were the first to play with them. The white one we named STORM cos she was abit evil although we rehabilitated her abit so shes better now. And then tehre was baby (aka Layla) and Thomas (after the tank engine)... We got out in Camp 3 which was the lion camp with all the younger ones, so they arent ina formed pride yet, and we helped the vet to cart around sedated lions (with the awake ones looking on suspiciously... with no fences) that was pretty awesome! anyway It's a good group here, two cousins, Laura and Hannah from london/essex. And Toni who's from Bournemouth and we get on quite well, shes off travelling after this too.. I've been reading a good book she gave me and we've deceided i'll leave it where i finish it in a hostel and see how far it can get round the world. Anyway must dash cos other people want the net. Hope you're all well :)
updated: yeah so other stuff about lion park now that i've left... well we had a lot of thunderstorms, near enough everynight, i think maybe 2 nights in a fortnight it didnt rain at some point. Bearing in mind Jodie is terrified of thunder and lightening... i dont think she appreciated them! I've got some photos from one of them somewhere. Still trying to get through the photo backlog.. I've uploaded the 2GB card now, selectively. But theres another million photos from Africa that I've yet to upload, it just takes forever! We went to Pilanesburg National Park after we left the lion park, and to a craft market where i bought lots of things, but i haggled well. Particuarly impressed with my 785Rand down to 200Rand for a big tablecloth with the big five on it. And my wooden hippo from 650 to 200. I hope to tidy this all up at some stage because my careless rushed blog isn't a good start.
