Argh, I'm tired. We went to the beach today for our 'learn to surf' day. And i dont think i'll be becoming a surf-babe anytime soon. Still seem to have a rather overwhelming fear of water since the white water rafting, which is annoying. So i waded out with the board after all the ON-land instruction... and yeah, got hit by afew waves, watched other people have a go, and then pretty much gave up on the idea and went back in. It was cold today though, a mere 20degrees and cloudy and windy on a HUGE beach. All i really wanted was to have my kite and board cos it would have been awesome... there were some kite-surfers out there and i was abit jealous, except for the water part. So yeah most of today was sat shivering on a beach, a beach that felt colder than the gower ever has. The group i'm with are really starting to get to me now, there are some very loud ones, and now theyve nicknamed the other group as the 'young ones' and find it really funny that they're really relaxed and dont make loads of noise and mess about. Yet like to call us the 'lively ones'... theyre definitely talking about themselves there! I really enjoyed being in the bus with the other group today who didnt feel the need to sing loudly or shout 'WOOP WOOP' for no apparent reason. It's true that only some of the group are irritating, but it doesnt help that theyre the loudest ones. Also they all go out every night (except 3 of us) and get absolutely off their faces and come back at 3 or 4am and have no consideration for anyone else, talking louder than normal for 45minutes before even considering 'do u think we're being loud, people might be trying to sleep?'... my rant isnt really over, but you're probably bored of reading about it. So we were all going to go to the pub round the corner tonight, but they didnt have dinner til 8pm and now its 9.30 and theyre still messing about and arent at all ready to leave. I want some sleep so i know i need to get it BEFORE they come back as this plan worked wonders last night. Tomorrow we're walking 5km from one beach to another, and i expect there will be complaints about that for some reason, especially as many of them asked if they can wear flip flops for it... I'm feeling like a seasoned -- or perhaps just wiser than them -- traveller. Cant wait to get to Melbourne where hopefully i wont encounter any people from Britain with such habits. Tuesday seems very far away.
