I MADE IT! It does feel somewhat like i've only been travelling to get to here, and now im here i feel a relief that the main event in my travelling calendar (the first one i planned) is actually going to happen. I refer of course to NYE Sydney 2008..or is it 2009? I've also just remembered my plans for a big celebration next year back home, which I'm sure ive mentioned to at least afew of you. Unfortunately my only view of Sydney's sights was a drizzle-soaked view from the plane. But still, it looked impressive, you fly in directly over the city centre and i can imagine on a nicer day it would look even better. So tomorrow i shall head out and see the sights properly, work out the best place to view the fireworks from... and also get some food, because, low and behold...A KITCHEN! so that'll be pasta for a week, maybe some curry. Talking of curry, last night i went to this little place in Little India in Singapore, and with not many pennies left to spend i got a HUGE chicken masala meal, which was served on a banana leaf and was so sooooo good. Even after all the good meals i had in Thailand, this was really very nice, although it may just have been due to the fact it wasnt thai food. So yeah, i'm just relaxing this evening, there's some sweedish people in my dorm who seem friendly, but i'm too tired after sitting on a plane all day and getting up at 6am. Oh i saw a good film actually, well Igor was good, i only watched it because i was feeling abit ill and eddie izzard's voice would cheer me up, it did, i quote 'how do you activate this evil bone? kick it? slap it? poke? take it the movies? call it Irene?' ahhhh so that was funny, but the GOOD film i saw was called Eagle Eye and had shea lebouf(sp??) in it and although i missed the first 20minutes it looked good and only finished 2 seconds before the woman took away the headphones! Maybe my next blog will be more exciting as i dont have much new stuff to say as all i've done in the last 24hours is sleep and sit on a plane.
