Our journey back to Argie was far more smooth. We spent 1 more night in El Calafate before catching the 3am bus back to Bariloche - a 32hr journey. And if only it was 32hrs........Not even 1/2 way though the journey we were stopped by another road block. But this was not to be for just a few hours. Oh no! These guys meant business. They were burning tyres and had home-made petrol bombs at the ready. There were only about 30 of them but they were not budging. ...

We arrived in the pouring rain and freezing cold. The next day it snowed ALL DAY, -1 degrees and the day after, sleet. Hence the beautiful lakes and mountains we planned to trek were not to be seen. On the up side the hostel was comfortable, clean and had underfloor heating! We spent the days with fellow travellers (mostly Israeli) playing card games and drinking beer.
