aarrgghhh my face is burnt and swollen and our next hostel is in the red light district....onto another funny adventure i feel!! and lauren's just annoyingly brown and wer both worried about having skin cancer-aparantly if u burn the same part of ur skin 5 times ur 98%likely to have it.great!! mummy help me!xxx
Well personally i dont think im (lauren) brown enough to be quite honest..but carly seems to think so..anyway weather turned out nicely yesterday so we went to the beach..we were a bit confused that we were the only people on the HUGE beach bt carl was desperate for some tanning time! the wind was really strong and the waves were dangerously HUGE..the experienced surfers couldnt even brave it, anyway the beach was closed because it was so dangerous but we laid there for about an hour, carly in her bikini and me covered right from my feet to my head in sarongs and towels so i wouldndt burn ontop of my already rosy red burns..:s anyway the sky began to get gloomy so we headed into the Bondi shopping district which was like a 10 minute bus drive from the beach and naturally there were loads of cosmo and boutique cafes and all the surf shops! anyway after a days shopping we were quite exhausted and headed back to the hostel but we really couldnt be bothered to go out to eat, seriously it gets sooo boring eating at restaurants and cafes for 5 weeks so we went to the mini mart next door and bought some edam cheese, crackers, houmous, 2 bags of picnmix, a flapjack, orange juice and a carton of milk and we had a nice little feast in our dorm! Today is our last day in Sydney and there isnt much left to do, nor do we have much money left so we're just going to the cinema to watch the hitcher and maybe we are going to the ice bar toniight which is made entirely of ice and is -5 degrees..the glasses are made of ice..the bar..the seats..the tables...obviously on entering they equip you with thermal coats, gloves, hats and ear muffs..just a tad excited really..!I think its 1 of 2 in the world, the other is in Rome!
AFter a pleasant journey on a nice train to kings cross we got a tad nervous abvout what our accommodation would be like, weve been warned about the area and ahve heard some dodgy stories and bad reviews and the fact that there is a v.,high crime rate we were a bit like.."great!" but upon arrival it was a really nice, almost bohemiam street with nice little cafes and cute victorian doll houses! We arrived at our accomodation and it looked quite nice really, its a huge victorian mansion and really very pretty. We were warmly greeted and shown around the common areas of the hostel (which seemed more like a guesthouse) and then to our room, which we managed to upgrade from a mixed dorm to a girls dorm for no extra charge! Its really nice! Clean again and pretty, there are 3 bunks, a fridge and a tv and we met one of the girls who is from LA and isnt that friendly but bearable but we have realised now that there are really ncie hostels out there..well compared to our first s*** one and the best ones are lonely planet recommended and YHA hostels..anyway we are happy with our ac and cant really believe we only have 2 nights left!! the 3rd night we will be sleeping over singapore and india and then home! x
