Sarah's Oz & Nz trip
Di came and knocked for me and we said we'd meet in the kitchen once i had showered etc. Met in the kitchen and grabbed our stuff and headed down to the Sydney tower as the weather had cleared up and Di recommended i take the chance. Went to the Tax Office and filled in my application online for my Tax File Number, only took a few minutes and then Di walked me around to the entrance to the Sky Tower. Di went off to do a few things and i said i would call her when i was done. The views were amazing, you could see for miles! Took plenty of photos and bought a postcard, sticker and guidebook. Went down to the Oz Trek experience like a simulator ride through the Australian sights. Called Di and met her down the road outside the State Theatre. Di suggested going over to Manly as the weather was nice and we walked down to Circular Quay and got a ferry from wharf 3 return to Manly. The ferry ride was nice, lots of sights to be seen and took lots of photos of the bridge and the harbour, the tower etc and only took about 30 minutes. We went for a walk down the corso and headed for the beach, got fish and chips and sat by the beach on the picnic tables. We went for a walk along the prom to the end where the beach was and this part of Manly is an Aquatic Reserve. Some surfers were out as the waves were getting a little rough. Took some photos and called home. Went and sat on the beach and took some photos of the surfers and headed back down the corso to a pub for a drink, went to The Steyne and then the Ivanhoe for a beer, grabbed a bottle in the off licence and then grabbed a subway sandwich and go back on the ferry. It was dark and all the lights were on in the harbour and all the little bays, it was lovely! Walked back up to the hostel from Circular Quay and went and did some washing and watched tv till late.
