Sunday 04/06/06 Got up about 9.30am, grey and overcast, bit windy! Packed up my daysac and handbag and grabbed some food to take with me and was setting off for Darling Harbour. Before i left i was trying to set up my Vodafone sim card, bloody nightmare, but sorted in the end! Headed down to Darling Harbour to go and walk around and see the Sydney Aquarium, paid for a ticket and entry to the Sydney Tower and Oz Trek as a 2 in 1 ticket. Had a walk around the Aquarium, it was good, loads of Ozzy animals and things i hadnt seen before! The seals and sharks etc are kept in salt water tanks in the harbour, which is cool, its there real environment. Bought a postcard and a sticker and guidebook. Walked down to King St Wharf, another section of the harbour and theres lots of chic restauarants and bars there. Got a subway snadwich and decided to get a cruise of the harbour and entry to Taronga Zoo. The boat, Mathilda Cruises, took you all around the harbour and there was a lady on the boat giving a commentary etc, saw Russell Crowes apartment, AU$17million! and its right in the Australian Navys port! The lady on the boat took me under her wing, she was giving me coffee and biscuits as i was on my own and backpacking, she gave me extra biscuits to take away with me! I took the cable car to the top and started looking at the Australian animals and took photos! It was a nice zoo not too commercialised or anything. Saw the most deadliest snake in the world, the fierce snake! It's tiny! The zoo was closing at 5pm and i had to get the ferry back to the harbour, the lights were all on down at the harbour and the Opera House etc, very pretty! Walked up around the other side of the harbour to the Harbourside shops and window shopped. Got back to the hostel and there were some new people, got talking to Talia, she was from Israel and was flying to Thailand the next day. We went downstairs for a drink and Di came too. I got something to eat and we had a few beers and a chat. We went upstairs when the band got too loud and watched a bit of tv and wrote my journal. And was going to meet up with Di in the morning and she was going to show me around Sydney.
