Here we are in Derby Mr M says its a town that is nice to visit but would not like to live here.
As we were all gapped and gorged out we decided we did not want to drive on any more corrugations so we gave Windjana Gorge a miss. The Fryze's went there and Tunnel Gorge and Bells Gorge. Saw heaps of crockodiles. So glad I didn't chance it and go for a swim.
Its as hot and humid as all get out. Visited all the touristy things in 30 minutes, had lunch at the wharf watching the 11 metre tide come in.
Had a rest day did the washing etc Mr B pulled the poor fridge apart yet again trying to stop it vibrating. i suggested changing beds so I could have the vibrating bed but no, he has to pull it out yet again. now we have carpet and foam under and around it. Made a few holes in the choice (brown and orange ) lino floor.
When I complained was told to harden up.
I love our little van, it is the smallest one on the road, and oldest. We did see a Viscount that was nearing our vintage. People drag vans around that are as big as houses.
Lots of Winge- ee-bagoes. Apparently people in them have high expectations and complain all the time about their sites. Some are very small - just right for us but not 60 ft Winnebagoes.
I had hoped our little van would not be left on the side of the road somewhere but i think its days are numbered. Mr B has been talking about a bigger better one that does not have a fridge that vibrates and is easier to get out simple things from storage.
The boys went shopping at Mitre 10 looking for a new door lock for our van, ours fell out. So we are not wanting to leav eit open as we head for Cape Leveque shortly and are leaving the vans in Broome. Mr B didn't find a new lock so he gaffer tapes the door shut.
But he bought me an airconditioner -yes a fan and a spay bottle of water. he set it up on an empty Ingolby red wine box gaffer taped to the van so it blows through the window of the van to keep us cool at night. i must admit it does work. yes his choice ofwine has deteriorated to Ingolby. He finished all the D'Arenburg deep trellis or some such stuff.
Life is good and I have exceeeded my expectations of what this trip would be like.
The boys are glued to the TV stuck in the window of Mr M's van. Commenting on the poor umpiring.
