We left Hervey Bay and after spending a couple of nights at Burram Heads, are at a place called Miara, about 45kg from Bundaberg.
We are getting into the flow of this trip now, I'm no longer wearing a watch and the only time we are interested in are the tide times as we are into the fishing now, although the only decent fish we caught was down to Chris on our first attempt.
We stand there watching the fish jumping while the little toad fish are nibbling our toes but only get a few bites on the line. If I didn't know better, I'd think they were laughing at us! Still, it's good fun even though we were up to our knees in mud last night learning the art of "pumping for yabbies"
We are going out on the bikes most days now,but nothing too adventurous. We've been riding along lanes surrounded by sugar cane fields and through cattle that roam freely only confined by the cattle grids that we ride over.
We are meeting lots of fellow travelers and learning interesting little tips every day. Even with the full moon at the moment, we have not met any weird and wonderful or abusive people. That is something I haven't been used to for a while.
Life is good! And we are making the most of it.
