Smelly Rotorua. Karen refused to go there again, she was there the last time she was in NZ. It´s a natural geothermal area and smells like rotten eggs due to the sulphur. I didn´t really mind it that much, I think she is overreacting! Though I did wake up that morning, who in the dorm had farted..then I remembered where I was! ;-)

I waked around the free geothermal area first. Like a park, with the sulphur pools bubbling away in various locations. Then I visited the museum, took a wander around the Government Gardens, looked at the lake and saw the black swans, not sure what they really are, but that is what they look like! I was now happy going around by myself, it was the driving was getting me down, wandering around myself was great, I had a ball by myself!

I went to the spa then in the afternoon. Had a bit of relaxation for myself. They have a whole hot pool set up, different temperatures etc and a swimming pool, all naturally heated. Very nice! I love myself! After that then I decided to love myself some more and I went shopping! Arrghh, I can´t resist! That will never change!

So I really liked Rotorua, enjoyed the leisurely time I had there. I was gonna go somewhere else but decided against. I would have just been in the car too long. Though I missed going to more places I wanted to visit, it was better taking some time to relax and actually enjoy a place. There is always next time!!
