Hi all,
Well it´s been a long time, I´m totally behind on this site.I´m gonna go backwards all the way to NZ cos it´s upsetting me that I have left out bits of it.I know, what a nerd. But this is a diary for me also, so I want to put it all in!!I´m actually in South America now, it´s all going so fast.But….let´s go back!
So, if I can remember, we headed to Queenstown after the glacier. We got there in the evening. We´d seen lots of nice scenery along the drive, photos are up.Lake Matheson, reflective lake, wasn´t too reflective the day we were there, as it was too cloudy, but I still like my photos!Thatcher Creek Falls, Lake Hawea, Wanaka, and more stuff I can´t remember now! Also, we visited the AJ Hackett bunjy, not the highest one, one of the girls from the bus did it, again there should be a few photos of that.So it took all the day to get to Queenstown cos we stopped at all these places!!
They do this thing in Queenstown called the big night out, a scam actually, but a lot of the peeps from the bus decided to do it.I was getting up early the next day to do Milford Sounds so wasn´t too interested.Anyhoos, I tagged along for food and a few drinks. That is where we went to Fergburger, famous Queenstown burgers and the best I´ve ever had, sorry Mam!Bigger than my head but just so delicious! Then few drinks, then me and Amanda went home while the rest got drunk!
We got up for Milford the next day. This was a tour on a boat, the pics are up for ages, the boat trip was only about an hour and half, but it took about 5 hours to get there on the bus and 5 hours back.It was a long day. What we saw was really nice but not really worth the money we spent.Had we had more time, we would have done things a bit differently but it´s easy to see how you could have planned things better afterwards.
Next day was just some sightseeing around Queenstown, nice town, not too big, the extreme sports capital of NZ.They do it all there, I hummed & hawed over the skydive, but didn´t want to do it there as it´s a bit predictable & more expensive. Now, however, I may have had better scenery and I think I did pay more in Oz to do it L!!We did the luge in the afternoon, tobogonning expect on concrete instead of snow, great fun.State of me with my crooked helmet on!!Beautiful!!So that was Queenstown!
