Might write this up later.
Been a very long day.
It's 10.15pm and I am just starting to blog.
So photos tonight.
On the bus to Sarajevo.
Driving through the Gorge of Neretva.
Surrounded by amazing high mountains on either side.
Ok....
After the ferry ride, and after we had disembarked at the stern, Sibila put me in charge of the group!
There I was 'Tour Leader flag' waving furiously.
I was in my element!
( The group suggested that the power was going to my head!)
Sibila took the flag away from me.
Wandered this gorgeous small, pebbled beach.
It is just so nice.
Paddled in the water.
Really amazing trying to keep your balance on those pebbled beaches!
Ordered a sandwich with 'everything.'
That means more to me than you.
There were 2 ladies in the group who also were ordering at this outdoor cafe.
They took the young waiter outside to point at the picture of the meat and salad sandwich and then proceeded to tell him that they wanted it without the meat and the salad, perhaps some cheese, no tomato.
Even calling out to him in the kitchen ..
' No mayonnaise.'
' No pepper on that.'
So, when the poor man turned to me ...
I said, 'Everything.'
He seemed confused.
' Everything?'
' Everything.'
He delivered my sandwich to my table with a huge grin saying ' Everything.'
He is the young man in the ice cream photo.
He grinned as he put the Croatian flag in my ice cream.
Found Matilda swimming.
And dragged her out of the water for a photo!
Arrived Mostar and checked into the hotel.
It's beautiful.
15 minutes, out the door for guided tour of Mostar.
Lovely guide and walked the old town.
And there was the bridge.
This just looks spectacular.
And the marble roadway over the bridge ...
You just have to see it.
Very slippery though and it was a hot, sunny day!
Some in the group pooled money and donated it to a man who would jump from the bridge.
That is a long way up .... or down!
Over the bridge.
Lovely views of the bridge and the town.
Free time to wander the old marbled streets.
All now lined with shops.
I bought 2 necklaces.
Then a walk to the bus. bit of a time waiting for him ...
Then off to a wine tasting.
Oh dear.
Not really my thing, these wine tastings.
( Too much wine and not enough food in my opinion.)
So asked for a long, cool glass of water instead and wandered the gardens for a time as I was a bit wobbly on my feet.
( I did run around Mostar a bit.)
The vines are planted into ground that is just filled with round rocks. That's all you can see down the lines of vines. Round rocks everywhere!
When they plough, they just turn up more of these round rocks.
Looked incredible.
Then down to the cellar to join the others.
And, after that, back upstairs for an amazing meal.
Bus.
Caught that sunset reflected in the bus windows.
Hotel.
Bed.

Just keep practising mum! I actually don't think there would be a better choice to lead the group than you! That smile just pulls people to you and can clear paths!
