...I find that I had been registered in the hotel as Łukasz Olczyk Olczyk. Apparently a guest here just has to have two last names. No way around it
...I am pleased to find Belgian beer glasses (Judas) in my hotel bar. But they don't have the beer. Did they steal the glasses while on a trip to Belgium??!!
...I appreciate most hotels lay out a good coffee table book describing the local region prominently with beautiful pictures of all attractions and delicacies
...I am annoyed at how local internet packages are just like in NZ: after buying a starter pack and using up all data, it's cheaper to buy a new SIM card than to top up data.. Ugh...
...I and set off for a longer trail - this time it's called: "La Ruta del Cornón" and it involves climbing a peak with 700 m elevation difference. Exciting!
...I lose the trail and have to backtrack without reaching the summit. I get lost 3 more times on the way back, including the last time in the village 200m before the car. It clearly isn't my day. But the views were mind boggling and the weather - immaculate.
...I drive to Covadonga passing through Oviedo once again
...I reach Covadonga and check into a lovely family-run B&B. It truly is a home away from home and one of those places I will always try to go back to. Thank you Jorge!
...I start learning Spanish beer serving terminology: there's caña (0,3), pinta (0,5), corto (another term for caña, maybe Asturian) and jarra (a pitcher). And counting!
...I notice finding tea bags in little village grocery stores is not a given in Spain
...I really appreciate the Spanish trail signposting system - they even mark little paths that branch off the main one and can mislead you. They put an X in the same colors as the trail markers there, meaning: DON'T GO THERE!
