...I finally figure out the bizarre American single tap hot/cold water shower system and manage to get a hot shower without getting burnt
...NYC greets us with rain and for a moment I feel like I'm in Brussels again
...we decide to go to Battery Park and retrieve my knife, which we do and which we are happy to still find there...
...only to be forced to dump it in the cannon again when we go to the nearby American Indian Museum and are turned away at the door
...we visit the museum, find it small but interesting and get the knife back - this time for good (all those in a similar situation – I can point the cannon out on the map for you :) )
...we do some more walking, meet chipmunks in the park, shop a little, explore the Village, find some traces of Polish and Ukrainian presence in the area and generally walk a lot; rain spoils the experience only a little – NYC is still magnificent even if not quite as photogenic
...we hang around Madison Square Garden in the silly hope that some scalpers might be willing to sell us second hand Pearl Jam tickets (they perform that and the following day in the Garden – awwww....) but we're afraid of fakes so we abandon the idea...
