...we visit two more galleries including Bernini's famous perspective at Palazzo Spada (overrated if you ask me)
...we make it to St. Peter's basilica and are surprised that the thorough checks are still there and whole sections of the church are still fenced off to visitors
...we have lunch at Trastevere where an Italian lady from the table next to our offers to refill dad's wine cup - he courteously refuses
...at another table two ladies from England attempt to guess my PIN number when I hand my card to dad and tell it to him (in Polish) out loud so he could go inside and pay (his card having been denied). Needless to say they were far off the mark...:D
...dad praises my Vespa driving - coming from him that's unbelievably big!
...we finally realize how big the gap is in Italy between signs and actual traffic - STOP signs are mere suggestions, no turn signs commonly ignored and speed limits - well, let's just say people are not religious about them. My kinda country! Having said that in most of the tight streets of Rome it's difficult to have any real fun on a Vespa. But along the river, yes, that's where the fun begins!!!
...I take dad to his airport, come back to the city, leave the bag in storage and go for the last pizza. It's not impressive but I have a very nice walk as the sun sets over the city. Balmy beautiful weather make it a great pleasure!
...I pick up my bag (it's an automated storage system at Termini - they scan your barcode and the bag rolls in on conveyor belts like at an airport - I'm impressed!) and go to the other airport. Where I manage to not get extorted by taxi drivers and get to my hotel nearby and fall asleep dead tired... Early start tomorrow!
