...we replace a mirror on our Vespa - the original one we broke off trying to adjust it because of its poor threading (it had been a Chinese knockoff anyway as it turned out)
...we visit some more beautiful churches and the Vatican Museums including the Sistine Chapel (where we see guards who only job is to keep repeating: "Do not blockeh the passageh. Enjoy the chapeleh from de middeleh" all day long. Depressing.
...we go to see St. Peter's basilica and get frisked three times on the way - it turns out it's because the pope is scheduled to address the pilgrims in a few hours time.
...we miss out on meeting the pope despite having nice seats in account of arriving - accidentally - early to a meeting we didn't know was happening because of maddening religious singing over a powerful sound system and overwhelming heat.
...we visit the Sant'Anggelo Castle for another breathtaking view of the eternal city this time from across the river and top the day off with a visit at Obicà, my favorite mozzarella place in Rome for a cheese blowout followed by an ice cream splurge in the renowned Palazzo Del Freddo. I mean the sheer choice of flavors, toppings and additions will make your head spin!!!
