...we landed in Bombay and noticed the airport underwent some styling changes, looking more sleek and friendly.
...we went through immigration, customs and other formalities at an absurd speed of about 10 minutes. Then the cabbie took us to our hotel without stalling, getting lost or asking for directions. Are we in the same country as last year...???
...we realized booking a hotel close to the airport means that the airport is also close to the hotel and that planes landing and taking off over your bed might mean less sleep..
...we remembered the first night in an Indian hotel always begins with figuring out the secret workings of the generously allotted light switches and shower k***
...we noticed the rickshaw drivers are still willing to risk (our) life and limb driving against traffic just to get us there quickly (even if we didn't ask them to)
...we observed that the Bombay Domestic Terminal has two sets of gates - one with just numbers and the other with numbers and the letter A; apparently a tourist going mistakenly to gate A3 instead of 3 is still reason for amusement and the butt of many jokes among the airport security staff; who would have thought, after all these years.
...we realized we are still ever so popular as objects of greetings (hola señor!, how are you doing? - heard all over the streets of Bombay) and snapshot opportunities. What an ego boost!
- we went back to Goa and found our favorite Punjabi restaurant - Sher-e-Punjab, which hasn't changed an iota!
- we conceded that in crowded Indian bus stations a guy with a whistle behind your bus beats any parking sensor hands down
