Today was a bit of a strange day, we went to catch our bus to Waitomo but our driver stopped us and told us that Waitomo had been flooded with all the rain and was shut and would be for the next few days. So now we had the choice to stay in Rotorua for a few more days or go straight to Taupo. Well seen as we were already packed we decided to go straight to Taupo. Well. today is our last day in Rotorua and it finally decides to stop raining. So we took this as an advantage to explore the town properly, we had a walk around the town centre and sat down by the lake for a while. Quite a lazy day really, making the most of not having to work! Had to pack yet again this evening, you would think we would be a bit more organised by now but everytime we do washing we have to re-pack everything!

Well today there was more rain but luckily not so much. We headed off on a bus to a place called Waitotapu, this is where all the geothermal activity goes on. We got to see an errupting Geyser and lots of bubbling mud! In the afternoon we had a nice free drink in a local pub and had dinner at pizza hut! (well it has been quite a while since the last pizza!)

Today we woke up to the sounds of pouring rain. So we couldn't decide what to do as anything meant getting very very wet. We decided to walk to the lake and look at all the geothermal activity, couldn't really see it all that well as the rain didn't stop at all. We came back absolutely soaked, had some lunch and headed out again. This time we only ventured around the shops as they were all undercover! It is now the evening and is still pouring down, hopefull...

Well today was a very early start, we had to get up at 6.30 to get the coach. We stopped off on the way in Matamata, or as some of you might know it as Hobbiton, yes it was where the Shire was in Lord of the Rings. We didn't get to see anything really as we didn't have time, hopefully we will be able to come back here. We arrived in Rotorua at about 1pm, we had a wonder round.
