DAY 22: USA 2016 - THAT'S A WRAP!
Woke once again to clear blue skies this morning. In fact, other than some rain in Philly, I think we've had perfect weather this whole holiday. I guess we struck it lucky there!
We didn't think we needed, or to be honest, had a 12hr Disney shift in us today. So we decided instead to let Josh have one more session in the hotel waterpark to kick off the morning.
Just before lunch, we checked out and stored our luggage at the hotel, before putting in a solid seven hours at the 'happiest place on earth'.
We left the itinerary for today's Disney mop-up mission in the hands of our energiser bunny.
He was never short on suggestions as we revisited all his favourite rides from the past couple of days - and yes that included another couple of goes on that bloody roller coaster!
It is true though that, no matter how many times you may have visited previously, there's always something new when you experience Disneyland through the eyes of a child.
In the three days we were here, Josh never looked tired. In fact quite the opposite!
There was a nice surprise in store to finish off our holiday here in Anaheim. When we checked in, I enquired about a return shuttle service to LAX.
"You know, for an extra ten bucks, you could get a private transfer".
Sounded fair enough, so I locked it in.
What rocked up tonight was a stretch limo! The driver told me it was meant to be an SUV, but since the stretch was free, he couldn't resist taking it out for a spin. No complaints from us!
It was a nice way to wrap up the holiday. The three weeks have flown by, but I think we all struggle to pin point just a single highlight.
Five or six years ago, we thought "let's take the boy to Disneyland". So we started planning for Joshua's first big USA adventure. All it did was wet the appetite for adventures two and three.
It is such a vast country, but after doing both the West and East Coasts, the mid-North and down to the deep South, I think we've just about covered it.
I wonder where we should go next???
