Douglas Brown's Travels
Day 21 I headed down to breakfast at 9:30 which proved to be a bad move as there was not any hot breakfast left. After breakfast I returned to my room to relax. After reading parts of my Milan guide book I updated my blog and downloaded the photos and videos from my cameras and phone. Checked my travel card and did some online banking to top it up with euro. Then wrote some postcards. At 1pm I decided to walk into town and find a post office to post my cards. After posting the cards I headed for the sandwich shop at which I had bought yesterdays lunch. I sat in the park were the old Emona had stood, eating my lunch and listening to the sounds of the city. I then walked back to the hotel and packed my bags for tomorrows departure. My suite cases are definitely getting smaller. I watched a little TV then headed out for the evening meal. Not far past my Indian resturant from last night I found a little traditional Slovenian resturant Gostilna Sestica. that had been there since 1776. It was originally a stable and Inn for travellers. It had not lost its old world charm with the modern upgrades and it was filled with locals, a good sign. I got the only available table and enjoyed a stuffed veal entrée and a Chicken Ljubljana Steak, washed down with a local beer. I did not stay up long when I returned to the hotel as I had set the alarm for 6am.
