Headed into Winton today, origin of Banjo Paterson , waltzing Matilda, opals and dinosaur stuff!
Went and checked out the Age of the Dinosaur museum. Spectacular outlook, great staff and really interesting stuff. All six kids were totally mesmerised by the information given and Emma and Ebony were feeling a bit infected by dinosaur fever. Emma is keen to come back to Winton, to become a digger, needs to be at least 12 though-so that may be on the cards next time. Meeting the dinosaurs fossils was cool (Matilda,Banjo and Elliot)-although the power was out, so the experience was probably not as good as usual.
On return to camp we found wind gusting to about 30knots, both campers remained standing-but it was a fairly unpleasant with the dust and cold wind -good news though-lots of us fit into the Jayco to escape the wind!
We went driving into Bladensberg National Park-and found a lovely secluded, dust free camp site for next time!!
On the road now to Mt Isa......

Bob and Karen McBride What great photos! Dad thought that with all the dust you might need to blow the dust out of the air filter? Looks like you're having a wonderful time. Miss you!
