We started today by aiming to have a plan of what else we wanted to do in Vietnam. We had both thought about a trip to Sapa further north but we would have to book a tour. Then we thought about where to go next and how to get there. We spoke to our hotel about the trip to Sapa, they had a booklet with the itineraries which we brought to our room to look over, the prices seemed reasonable. We worked out if we booked one more night at the hotel then go to Sapa which would be three nights in total then we could get a cheap flight from Hanoi to Danang in the middle of Vietnam the morning we get back as the train would get back from Sapa between 5.30am and 6.00am so that would give us enough time for our flight at 9.40am. It was all falling into place, we just had to book the tour. We had read about a travel agent who was supposed to be good in Hanoi but working out who's good and who's not is extremely difficult. There are so many travel agents and as soon as one seems to be doing well ie, good reviews on trip advisor then someone else will pinch their name and their sign writing style and just pretty much open up next door! The was a place called Sinh Cafe which this had happened to and we lost count of the number of them. They have now changed their name to Sinh Tourist but I don't know how long it will be before that gets copied too. We went into the Sinh tourist because they were supposed to be the good one, we got a price for the same trip but their deal had no meals included, we don't know what Sapa's like so this could be expensive without the meals included. We still need to have a think about it. While we were out we tried to find a restaurant that had been recommended to us by Kat and David who we met on the Ha Long Bay tour. We got totally lost and seemed to be walking round in circles, Hanoi is really hard to navigate once you get out of the main Old Quarter streets. We walked round and round but never found it, instead we opted for noodles at one of the side of the road cafes with tiny chairs. After this we decided to go back to the hotel and make our last job booking the cheap flight.
