We woke up with a small hangover each this morning after the cocktails and beers yesterday. Nothing that a coffee and proper breakfast wouldn't fix though. James said if Angus hadn't got the scooter for today then we wouldn't bother getting one but if he'd already organised it then we would go out and about. I think we were both secretly hoping he hadn't but as soon as we'd gone for breakfast he said he'd got one for us. I think it was mainly that we were being lazy, so we decided to make the most of it and after breakfast we packed a bag and set off on the scooter. We hadn't put that much thought into exactly where we wanted to go, there were a couple of things we had read about and wanted to visit. First we rode down the main road nearest to us, we filled up with petrol and then had a look at sat nav on James' phone to see where to aim for. One thing we had wanted to see was the mummified monk who is on display in a glass case. We found it and pulled in, it was just that, a mummified monk sat in a glass case inside a temple. There were a few monks dressed in orange. The mummified monk had apparently known when he was going to die and has been kept in good condition since then. Although i'm pretty sure he did not die with the black ray ban sunglasses he has on now! Whilst in there we made a small donation and a monk asked us to sit with him. He asked us our names and ages, sprinkled us with holy water and gave us a bracelet each. There was another temple right next door to look at too. They are pretty amazing structures. After this we had looked to see where the turn off was for a place called the secret garden. We turned off one road too early though and came down to a waterfall, we thought we'd have a look anyway. When we walked in there didn't seem much of a waterfall to look at but you could climb between the rocks and find a good seat to perch on for a bit. On the way out there was a cool t-shirt shop with hand painted t-shirts and vest tops. I got one to remind me of ko Samui. We set off again in search for the magic garden. We found the right road and followed it, some of the hills were so steep that the scooter couldn't get up them. I had to get off the back of the bike and walk them whilst James struggled to get it up the hill. We got to a point where the hills were so steep that James couldn't get the bike up even without me on the back so we gave up on that idea. Going back down these hills was a little scary but we made it. We decided before going back we would try to find a beach called sunset beach, as it was getting to that time. On the way we stumbled across more temples so we went to have a look, there was another mummified monk there, bizarre! We found sunset beach and walked to it through quite a posh resort. We walked along the beach where the locals were washing their buffalo in the sea. We went back to the resort and got a drink each while the sun started to set. It did look amazing from here!! Once the sun had set we made our way back to the hotel, we got back at around 7.00pm, we thought we'd have some tea here at the hotel tonight. We noticed Kelley was at the restaurant so sat with her for tea. We went back to our room fairly early as we have packing to do as we nice on again tomorrow.

James 15 Feb 2015... just noticed the wristband is no longer there. Must have been gone a few days... 2 years precisely? Spooky.
